Say CAMEMBERT and breathe in the tang of the tiny village that gave its name to this classic. There’s a museum in the form of a model farm at La Ferme Président, and across the way is The House of Camembert (built in the shape of a camembert box), where you can smell and taste! Elsewhere, the Manoir de Beaumoncel is where Marie Harel created the first camembert in 1791, while La Ferme de la Héronnière on the edge of the village still makes camembert the pure, old-fashioned way.
